Fear is something that we all experience but far too many of us truly realize the effect that it can and does have upon us. It is quite simply, overpowering. Just when you think you’ve got it all together, when you think that nothing can stop you, fear rears its ugly head. Insidiously seeping in, fear crawls under your skin, attaches itself to your heart and spirit and takes control.

Max Lucado’s new book ‘Fearless’ takes on the monster and shows us that if we trust in God, we truly have nothing to fear. Christ did not come for us to remain cowering in a corner while fear takes the lead. Max shows us that everyone is susceptible to the debilitating power of fear, but it is how we choose to see that fear and act upon it that can bring peace to our lives. In one instance Max writes "Fear, at its center, is a perceived loss of control. When life spins wildly, we grab for a component of life we can manage: our diet, the tidiness of our house, the armrest of a plane, or in many cases, people." How many of us attempt to control everything in our lives and in the lives of others, yet never see the root cause of this as fear. I know I never thought about it in that way.

At this time in my life there are many upheavals and quite truthfully, I’m afraid. Of what I don’t know, but still, the fear is there. I don’t know what’s going to happen, where God is taking me, or even if I’m really hearing from Him. But as Max explains it, we should make friends with whatever’s next in our lives. “Embrace it. Accept it. Don’t resist it. Change is not only a part of life; change is a necessary part of God’s strategy. To use us to change the world, he alters our assignments.” Npw I know that I'm being reassigned!

I love this book, and anyone who is struggling with fear or dealing with changes in their life will find this book a blessing.

Hello to all,

This is my first shot at actual blogging. Thought it was about time I got on the bandwagon and joined in. I may at times seem to ramble but I will also write about the most important things in my life, namely my faith and relationship with Christ, natural health, and how to help others achieve what they believe they can't.
